Hey guys, I just installed my bi xenon projector / halo kit and only 1/3 of one of the halos is lighting up. I spliced a bunch of wires so that may be the problem for the totally out one. But why would only part of the right one work? any help would be great, Idk where to even look for replacements.

i had this issue, did you flip the ring so there is no cut?

make sure all your connections are solid.

most likely its the wires leading FROM the halos, to the little box with clip type connector

exactly, the little black housing with side clips.

mine was like that too, cuz of the wires came outta the housing.
clean up your connections and you should be 100%

the halo works by ionising a gas, which then causes a coating on the inside of the tube to glow... to ionise the gas requires a large voltage to arc across it and turn it into a plasma, if that voltage isn't high enough you will find that there is some electron flow but not enough to light the whole tube... the end that is lit up is the cathode, as evident by the number of electrons moving around at that point in the tube... (electrons travel from the cathode to the anode)

Fix up the connections and you should be good to go.

OK, so i finally got around to taking every thing apart... I checked the connections and they seem to be good. is there any way to see if its the control unit or the halo thats not working? would hooking the ring straight to the battery blow them?

halo direct to wire will not work. the only other thing to try is to swap the control boxes and see if that makes a difference.

I been thru this battle man, i know how you feel. GL!

well I figured it out... turns out it was both the clip one and the screw connector. I hooked them straight up to the wires coming out of the box and they lit right up.. One was a lot brighter then the other :dontknow:... I'm just bought some new wire and connectors and going to omit the stock harness entirely and just have that one connector up front...

haha almost is right.... one is perfect but the other is very hit and miss... but for the most part very much a miss.... I'm thinking it is the box... they both share the same power and same ground wire. Ive ruled out the halos by switching the wires and I have also replaced the wires coming out of the box twice....

man this is getting aggravating... they both will work, Ill solder them up and then that one wont work any more...

Edit:

I accidentally got one of the wires switched so box A's power ran to the halo with box B's ground and vice versa. they both lit up surprisingly, is there anything wrong with running it like this? will it hurt any thing?
