Yup, they are replacing all the speedo's if your's shows a problem. They sent me a sticker that I put on my console that shows what speed you should be going at a certain RPM for a certain gear. mine is fine but even if it wasn't it's not that big of a deal. I'd rather have that than my clutch not working and my engine blowing like the R1. Who needs a speedo anyways :lol2:

Dudes, we've been talking about this on 1000rr.net for nearly a month now. This isn't new.

Our speedometers can start reading 77% of actual. So if your speedometer shown 50 MPH on your bike, you were actually going 65 MPH. Not everyone has this problem though.

First guy to notice his was off was in this thread on May 9th:
http://www.1000rr.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=609

This is the actual letter from Honda:

My new bike order suspended due to Speedometer recall:
http://www.1000rr.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=780

My bike was held up at the wharehouse in Chicago while Honda had a team come and fix all new 1000rr's before they are delivered to dealers.

PS Supposed to get my 1000rr this week. With all the delays I've been though since I ordered it on May 6th, all I can see is, "We'll see...."

"This condition can result in the vehicle being driven at an illegal or unsafe speed," NHTSA said in an advisory on its Web site."

But no one does or wants THAT

Eeek, that would suck. Passing everyone on the interstate wandering why they are driving so slow, then getting a ticket.
