Hello all, quick hopefully easy question for somebody with the knowledge to answer,

I took my bike out today and when pulling up to my apt building I was downshifting when i saw my neighbors. Now I kept my clutch engaged so i could wave with my throttle hand and accidentally went down too many gears, to first. All fine and dandy but it clunked louder than I liked hearing.

Long story short, starting at around 40mph, I pulled in my clutch, shifted all the way down to first (never releasing clutch) and first gear sounded rugged. Again tho I never actually let the clutch lever out during this time. Learned my lesson for next time but does anyone think I damaged anything? Is there a way to know for sure? Thanks!

Shouldn't be an issue. It doesn't actually do anything (relative to the engine) until you engage the clutch.
Ok cool thanks! The drivetrain is really what I was worried about, think that's all good?
