I recently purchased a RS5 "slip on "

I haven't pulled my exhaust off yet because I want to be sure I have everything before I pull it apart.

Here is my question I bought the exhaust after being told it was a slip on. The end of the mid pipe the connects to the header is tapered but doesn't have slits cut into it and has spots to attach hooks.

Do slip on mid pipes have slits cut in it?

Does my mid pipe sound like it from a full exhaust?

Thanks in advance

Slip on midpipes from yoshimura systems if I remember do not have multiple slits. It should come with a clamp instead of springs. The spring hooks would be to keep the can on the back end.
Sounds to me like it's from a full exhaust but I wouldn't know for sure without seeing it.

I'm really hoping this is infact a 05-06 exhaust and not an 03-04.

These are from the seller, I can get better pictures tomorrow

I'd say it's an 03-04 due to the angle of the connector at the header end but I've never seen one with spring connectors (on an early RR).

Well I pulled it apart, sure enough the mid pipe did not work.

The angle down into the header was completely off.

What a PITA
