yes they are. Unfortuantly, im now not gonna be able to make it. I got army training that doesnt end till the 23. be nice if we could change the date, lol.

if you trailer the bike it will take you about 11 hours.... My nephew comes witha group of friends at that time every year...if you want i can hook you up with him and you can come down with them.

it's really not as bad as it sounds......last year my nephew trailered his bike but his friend and friends dad rode thier bikes all the way here and back. They had a blast for the road trip!!! I'm not saying it would be easy to ride the RR for that long of a ride , but in all reality...it's road trips like that tha give you storys for the rest of your life!!!

no just kidding i stayed in robinsville for a mission trip last year and i drove my parents matrix on both the skyway and the gap. i enjoyed the skyway alot more than the gap b/c there were way to many people on the gap and hardly anyone knows of the skyway.
sure its not the legend that the gap is but if you around anyway take it!!!!
you will not be dissapointed
i am planing on taking my rr this summer or fall i plan on stayin in robinsville again. actually the roads in robinsville are great too.

Oh...yeah..I'll be there. I was there last weekend but I was in the truck (family was with me) so it wasn't nearly as fun as it could have been.

Looking at hotel prices, it looks to be less expensive to get a hotel in Knoxville. Thats about 30 mins away from US129. In some hotels, the rates almost double for a room in Maryville instead of Knoxville.

No he doesn't go on any forums that I'm aware of but I can get you his cell # so you can talk to him and maybe get together with them.....I don't know what part of Jersey your in but he lives in Kearny,NJ which is next to Newark and Bellville.

No doubt...you guys should really book your rooms now if you haven't already and just stay in East Knoxville or Alcoa . We stay in Alcoa since it leaves us roughly 20 minutes from the gap.


I also would like to stress what ncrider said..... As much fun as the gap is, the cherohala skyway is amazing!!!! I personally much rather ride the skyway, it's an elevation of somewhere around 5,200 ft' of the most beautiful sweeping turns you will ever ride!! bring a camera!!



For anyone interested, We are staying in the Holiday Inn Express In Alcoa,Tn. $80/night and pretty nice Hotel..We stayed there last year and had no complaints. We had a blast!!

We have been going every year on the Honda Hoot week for the past 4 or 5 years......it's not as bad as you would think. Best thing to do is try and hit Deals Gap before 1 or 2pm .... it does start getting more congested as the day goes by but if you hit the Dragon early and then go to the Cherohala you will be fine.

There is one advantage about going on the Honda Hoot weekend...I think the cops are a little more lenient since there is so many bikes and so much revenue comming in.......
