2007 Cbr 750rr

If it were true I'd be at the dealership putting a deposit down right now instead of trying to decide whether to keep mine, get a gsxr750, or buy an r6 track bike.

Or either of the other two big4's for that matter.. SOMEONE to give suzuki some competition..

kawi did a pretty good job i thought with the 636 with regards to giving suz a run but i guess it just isn't the same as a 750 huh...

Yeah... 636 is sweet but 750 is a lot more get up and go for sure.

my only guess is that they figure the only people that would buy it are people who whould have gotten another honda anyway. +1 cbr750, -1 cbr600 = 0 gain for honda/don't spend the money on an all new bike. i don't know if thier right about that or not, but there the big motorcycle company and i'm not so.....

good point Relf2, but i would imagine some people look specificaly for a 750 range and a stuck with a gsx. I would think they would make a little profit even if most of the 600s do go to 750s

i don't think that's it.. what about people who want a 750 but don't necessarily want a Suzuki?

that's my point...it seams to us that the customers are out there, but aparently they don't think so or they would have done it already...i would hope so....what i really think is they need to make a 750, but go ahead and make it any 800. the 600 doesn't look like rc-v anymore and a 800 honda would trounce the 'zuk. now, that's a bike that i think would bring more people to honda.

I'm thinking I may look for a RC51 if the rumors are true that it is not coming out again this year... =/

I agree with this. Making an 800 would be the best thing for Honda. By doing that they can say it's bigger than the 750 and that's a selling point for americans. Also they are switching over to 800CC MotoGP machines next year so I would expect them to make one for that reason.

An 800 would be a perfect middle bike from the 600 and 1000. I would imagine it would sell well, but it might kill the sales of the 600s. Maybe that's why they won't do it. The 800 would probley be the new 600. As in you don't want the 1000 but you want something fast so you get the 800. I'm sure the 600s would be deemed slow and not wanted. But then again the Suzuki 600s are still selling very well. hmmm...... I'll have to get a job with Honda and straighten those guys out.

there will always be clients for the 600 no matter what the next size up simply because noobies don't need to start on that much bike and the smart ones won't hence the need for the 600. i am still fairly new being i have only ridden for about 2 years, i knew starting out with 1000 would be too much and the 750 would be too. noobs need the 600 to learn on!

i think sales for 600s will still be there even if an 800 was to come out. Im pretty sure the 600 can still spank the 800 on turns which is the fun part of riding.

But just like the Gix750 an 800cc engine can fit into a 600cc frame. So it would be the same thing as a 600 with a 200cc bigger engine.

Also the vast moajority of people aren't smart with buying motorcycles and go for the biggest bike, and a 600 is by no means a beginner bike. Just to let you know I don't think you were "smart" for starting out on a "small" 600. Lot's of people out there are like you.

Well maybe if the RC51 is no more we will get a 750. The whole reason behind the RC51 was that AMA and Superbike rules allowed either a 1000cc twin or a 750 four. Honda chose to do a twin so we got the RC51 and they did well with it. Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki went with 750cc fours, hence the gsxr750, r7, and zx7. There are still amature classes that the 750 is perfect for, and there really isn't much engineering to go into the bike, just a little more bore and stroke is all that seperates the gsxr600 from the gsxr750. I'd settle for that, just a bigger motor in the same bike. Would make it perfect.

people buy the gsxr600 over the 750 cuz its cheeper. same would go for the 800. build it honda, and they will come (and i'll come get a 600[because i love 600s, and not because they're cheeper or are for noobs])

The other issue with an 800cc would be for racing.. most of the B superstock/superbike classes limit 4-stroke multi-cylinders to 750cc, so you'd have to run the 800 up with the 1000's, and for that, why not just have a 1000..
