Hi all,
i am looking for a spare rear shock for my 2012 cbr600rra (ABS).
It looks like the rear shock for abs version is different than non-abs ?
Looking at ohlins they all say non-abs. But why? Can i make the non-abs work? and what is the difference?

Regarding the stock shock, i found a 2009 abs rear shock. My plan was to buy it and get it serviced. It looks the same as mine, the reservoir has a hose running from it. But looking at part numbers i cant be 100% sure it will be the same as the 2012.

I don't know for 100% sure, but I don't think the ABS has anything to do with the rear suspension.

The 09 and 12 shocks will be the same and I do believe there is a difference between ABS and non ABS based on the mounting of ABS components that interfere with the attached reservoir on the shock of the non ABS.

Yes, the 2009 + with ABS needs a rear damper with a remote reservoir to make room for ABS components.
Ohlins is not setup for this, although a call to a good Ohlins dealer is worthwhile.....maybe they could build something with a remote reservoir?.
