2X4's suck

I was cruzin the 04 RR home at night when out of no where
I see this 2X4 at a PERFECT 45degree angle, like 15 feet infront of me  . What can I say... the low beam sucks for range! I was going 60mph and I swerved the best I could and still clipped it, it hit the front tire at an angle and bounced the bike into the air. I thought I was going to die! I came back down with a minor head shake, but all else was well. So I limped it home and inspected the tires for damage. Nothing but a few white scuff marks that wiped off with my fingers(phew). If you kow anyone hauling wood around, tell them to TIE THAT **** DOWN!

newbie here, but whats a 2x4 and does only one of the headlights work on the rr when low beams are on?
It is horrible too, because since it was at a 45degree angle, I thought the front tire was going to track with it and wash out, leaving me with a mouth full of assphalt! I couldn't use the brights because I was following a car and I don't like to be rude. I hate it when I am in a car and another vehicle has their brights on behind me.
a 2X4, as in a piece of wood, and the RR has two headlights, one for low beam, the other for high beam. Both are the same intensity, however the left one is just aimed higher.

Well, good to hear nothing serious came of it. Definetly have that high beam on whenever possible at night.
wtf is a piece of wood doing on the highway? I've seen strips of tires but never wood! thanks for educating me on 2x4 matt89
That's a good question my friend. My front tire was asking me the same question when we hit it  !

Probably fell out of the back of a truck.
FCK riding at night..........riding in the daytime is dangerous enough

I give that an ass pucker factor of 8.0
i don't know man, i think that's definatly a 8.5 or 9.0....
Nice save! You might have been telling a different story if you were on one of the less stable 600`s.
hahaha, stupid me, I'm tired and thought you meant 2X4 truck... :bitchslap:

Correct me if I'm wrong but the left one is low beam and aimed lower. They both stay on with high beams.

I use to try to be nice too and keep my low beam on when other were around at night but after a few close calls like you've had I've decided my safety at night is more important than someone else having to deal with my high beam for a few minutes. When I'm behind someone I leave a lot of space anyways because you never know what will appear out of nowhere from the car in front of you....as for the cars in the oncoming lane....they only have to deal with your high beam for a few seconds. Just my .02

yes, I know, it would be left if you were standing INFRONT of the bike, looking at it, but the right side if you were sitting on it. I wish it were like a car and you could just say "Passenger side" to clear up all confusion. Well, here... Throttle side! lol :p

Did you take the MSF? They let you practice jumping 4x4s.
could have used it and jousted your buddys with it  :lol2:
