I just installed my new yoshi rs-5 carbon slip on and I love it but after it was running for a few minutes i noticed a very small drip of moisture coming from where the pipe meets the other pipe from the headers (it was probably one drip per every couple minutes).. is this normal? anybody else notice that? or do i need to take it back off and adjust the gasket.. thanks for everybodys help

It's condensation formed during the combustion process. the end result from a perfect burn is Water and CO2. just an idea, but sounds very very normal.

as it cools the gasket will prob set and so on

if there is still a leak in a few days.. then look at resetting it

had the same problem ... the condensation will go away , but the water leaves nasty stains when the pipes heat up ... i used the ultra copper high temp rtv silicone ... i applied it on both ends of the mid pipe where it met the headers and where it met the pipe

how are you liking the yosh ? i'm running the ss/cf full system ... nice rumble !!

Go to the auto parts store and get hi temp RTV. It's silicon in a tube. Works wonders and costs about 4 bucks. Lay a bead on the pipe and slide it in.

also when i put it on do I wait for it to harden before i tighten the clamp?? and its about a 1/4 inch gap between the pipe and the header pipe..thats not too much to fill with this sealent??

It doesnt harden, it stays flexible. Put it on then tighten the clamp as soon as you do it. I waited about 5 minutes till I fired my bike up and it's perfect. If you ever have to take it apart it's just a good twist and out it comes.

haha thanks for tha very very bad idea.. lol the exhaust just spit in my face and said pppphh**** U! nah it must be that your exhaust is different than mine because after i tightened the clamp all the way and the sealent set the pipe just lifted right up... there is like a 1/4 inch gap all the way around... the gasket is a must... thanks for the help though.. good thing its winter!
