Buy a gasket too!! you might not be able to use the old one...
I just went to install my new yoshi slip on and I was at the part where you put on the new pipe over the header when I realized they dont give you a new gasket..there was no salvageing the old gasket... so now i cant go any further until i get a new one.. just thought i would gripe and give everybody some advice at the same time..

Are you talking about the pipe that sticks straight up...kinda behind the foot peg? If yes and it is a tight fit you dont need a gasket just slip it on till it stops and tighten the clamp....

It should be tight enough of a fit that you have to wiggle it on there so a gasket wont fit even if you had one......Just make sure you push the pipe all the way down till it stops tighten everything up and clamp it down you should be fine....My Leo slip on was like that and i just fooled with the clamp till i got a perfect seal...

Got mine all torn apart. I see what you are talking about. Is there any way to get that gasket out in one piece? Or do most people just not worry about it?

lol there was no way that sucker was comin out in one piece on mine.. it was melted, torn and just fell apart.. i just dont see why a new gasket wouldnt come with a brand new exhaust..its bad enough they make you use the same clamp.. lol i bought a new one of those too. Its a good thing its not riding season here or id be furious.. the nearest honda dealer is 2 hours away and they didnt even have one so i had to order it from ronnies.com other than that installation went alright with an exception of one bolt that they try to make it impossible to get the nut on the back side.. haha

ummm obviously not the case as I said it leaks like a siv... its not even a little bit snug.. maybe other brands of exhaust are but not the rs-5 and it cleary states in the instructions that you will need to replace the gasket if the old gasket can not be salvaged.. and i dont know about you guys but im not about to half fast a 400-500 dollar exhaust installation..

Got my gasket out in one piece! Had to almost peel the stock exhaust pipe like a banana to get it out without destroying it. Rs-5 Carbon will be here tomarrow so hopefully I wont have a problem getting this gasket back in the new exhaust. Do you think it would be better to to place the gasket on the header part of the pipe instead of trying to put it inside the new exhaust then push the new pipe on?

yes put the gasket on the header part..it will work out better that way it will not push up to far inside the pipe when you put it on.. good luck with it and post some pics when your all done.

Got mine on today! Man looks sweat and sounds great. Nice low rpm rumble and at 7k that thing starts cracking the whip ! oh my, just what I was looking for, damn woke my kids up from their nap. Now it just sets in the garage until the snow goes away. I think I am going to try and modify the braket so I can move the pipe up a little closer to the brake light ( anybody know the easiest way to do this?). Used gasket, no leak. I will try and get some pictures. Yoshi rs-5 carbon looks great on a Silver 06. Good Luck and enjoy!
