The bikes have traction control. His weight is not a detriment as much as it is a benefit, especially in drives off the corner.

What "Mini-me" does have is the same problem Casey Stoner has and that's tucking the front end (The same problem Nicky had for a while). It's learning that these bikes are heavier than the 250s and load the front up pretty heavy on braking -- sometimes to the point of tucking the front end.

He didn't highside because of the rear losing traction, he high sided due to tucking the front and getting his knee caught on the curbing.
I agree. But you know Dani has struggled even with traction control to keep the rear tire under him. Sometimes they get the traction control set up right and sometimes they don't. Sucks that he caught his knee on the curb though. What was it that he actually cut his knee on? Interesting view of a high-side though.

I like Nicky and all, and I hope he wins, but I really see Pedrosa or Rossi stealing it away from him. Especially with Hayden's last race performance.

Hayden is consistent and all but he doesn't have that extra edge that Pedrosa and Rossi have.

How long did it take Hayden to get up there in the pack? 3 years was it? Then you have Pedrosa placing 2nd on his first ever MotoGP race.

I've noticed that, but Dani has complete control over the traction control settings. There are three settings for t/c on the RC211V.

High
Medium
Low

The times his rear starts getting loose is either at the beginning of the race (colder tires) or near the end (worn tires). I've heard it said several times that he is so focused on racing that he forgets to switch the traction control. Since it's not automatic my guess is that "Mini-me" waits until the rear breaks loose a few times before he remembers to switch it.

So it's my theory that when you see his bike getting loose it's not due to his weight as much as it is him not remembering to switch the t/c settings.

hehehe great show by Robotface for racing with that kind of injury but actually when Robotface got back to his trailer Honda's team of robotic engineers were waiting inside & replaced that damaged limb of his with a new one & added some tweaks in the system to fine tune his riding so that freak highside doesn't happen again during the race.

the outcome of the overhaul was an excellent result as he did better than his teammate (KK) by finishing ahead of him, my hats off to the Honda robotics division they did an excellent job.
