The bikes a 2006, with 10550 mi., if that will make any difference, but the question I was having is that sometimes my key will not turn. It has taken me five minutes to get the key to turn. This doesn't happen every time, but often enough to make me nervous. It's especially difficult when I have the handlebars locked.

Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions to slightly remedy this? Anything would help...

And the key had been bent at one time, I don't remember where I was, but I left the key in it, and when I came back, I noticed that my key was bent. Of course, noone would admit to it. Pricks... but it seemed to straighten up just fine. Maybe a new key would be the best remedy?

I had a similar problem with f4i ignition and replacement keys made by a locksmith (I'm a dumbass and broke 2 originals)
I couldn't ever lock the handlebars because my keys weren't perfectly cut. I would use the spare key if you still have it because the metal in keys is very moldable and you'll kick yourself if you break your key off like I did!
Also, make sure you are getting the key all the way into the slot...if you know what I mean!

Unfortunately, I only have one key. When I bought the bike, the guy was supposed to send a manual and a spare. He never sent either. Ah well I guess. But there was a tag on the original key, key word "was". Apparently all the slapping around made it weak and it eventually fell off. Can I still have a key made? And I'm sure its getting all the way in, deep penetration is nothing new to me. Ha!!
