Hey all,

This is an odd question, but a buddy of mine is looking for an exhaust... so I found him one. I found him a custom hand-made system off of the M4 team Emgo FX bike that is being sold, used header with a brand new canister.

My question is this... I've currently got the Arata F/S on my bike, and this exhaust also fits my bike. Curious if I would see higher gains off of the Team Emgo FX exhaust, or if I should just be satisfied with what I've got? I've just got the itch to find out...

P.S. These are for '04 Gixxer 600s, you bunch of haters :icon_lol:

This coming from the guy that sold his arata for a Jardine factory?

I've been waiting for your results!

I actually just pulled the trigger on it. I got the full system for $515 shipped... I may let my buddy take it off my hands, but I would really like to see the comparison.

Good deal, I'm curious myself. Let us know how you like it.

While true, there is no way I would have sold that thing for anything else short of a factory Honda piece :)
Inclement weather keeps postponing dyno time. I'm hoping that this Friday will change that as some better weather is forecast. I love the Arata's though, such an excellent product...

I would go for the m4, or at least goad your buddy in to buying it, not every day u get to find a race tuned peice of hardware (like taht jardine system, I would have given my left nut to magically make it fit an 05 but nope, not happening).

I think that I'm just going to let it go and let my buddy take it off my hands. I am very satisfied with the Arata, and I doubt that the extra charges for tuning 2 full systems will prove useful in the end. While it would be nice in a perfect world to test them both back to back, getting dyno time in ND is scarce as it is... and I think I'm dreaming.

If I were more into tracking my bike, I think it'd be worth the time, but any gains will likely be negligible and unused in the long run.

Either way, quite a nice piece for the price I paid, especially with the new carbon canister.

Honestly, I don't think it would have taken much effort at all to make it fit an '05. The only difference is one (1) mouting point on the tail section/rear subframe and that's very easy to work around.

I was told from another source that this M4 does make great power, but the titanium is so light that I could expect cracking over time.

The exhaust design goes along with my original theory, as the collectors are actually positioned further up the primaries... not under the bike like typical systems. By acoustical exhaust design theory, this tells me that the peak torque should be shifted up the RPM range, however, this will come at the cost of lower power in the mid range. I'll get this thing on a dyno sometime this spring to confirm all of this... but the design theories I have been working with are typically good within 5% of actual values.

Here's an image of the shortened primaries that I am referring to...
