Yeah, those look really good and you did a great job on the install. I've considered buying a set for my '04 and putting the OEM set on the wall for safe keepings.

Word of caution though, keep your area swept clean. I was stupid and used my front stand on gravel for awhile and it destroyed the rubber on wheels. They cracked all to pieces and fell off.

Thanks! That area was clean till my wife opened the garage door this morning 🙄. Here’s a pic of my 04 with fairings from the same place.

Very clean bike! That's an interesting color choice and probably one I wouldn't pick but after seeing the finished product I like it. Was there a reason for leaving out the 600rr decals?
Thank you! No particular reason. I kinda didn’t think about it until I ordered it. I was more worried about the color of the decals than anything, I’m certainly not trying to pass it as a 1000. Anybody who’s a bike enthusiast knows the 08 1000rr looks completely different then a 600 in this year.

I wonder if it's possible to get undrilled fairings and put holes in just perfect locations yourself?

I just installed set of Hotbodies fibreglass track fairings. Came without holes at all. I test-fitted and marked locations, then drilled. Fit perfectly! Now I gotta take it all off to paint.

You've got the right idea but I think you give too much credit to the average person. I just finished installing Katzkin leather seat covers and the description said "Only hog ring pliers needed, no other special tools" and I'll have to write the review because that wasn't true. I had to break out my leather punch set, trim attaching clips, use my steamer to stretch and mold the cover, and use a pick tool to grab the blind zipper pulls.

I imagine if anyone can get the all the holes in the correct places on the fairings then they might as well keep modifying existing holes like is the standard now. With aftermarket plastic being more brittle than OEM I'd bet on a lot of cracked fairings and damaged paint as well.

Ah yes. Factory supplied holes are usually close enough. Nothing round rasp file can't fix easily enough.
