So igot my leathers today. 1 piece a/star GP Pro. Before I have them altered I need to decide whether or not to get a back and chest protector. These will only be worn for weekend blasts thru the mountains, maybe a track day or 2. So are they comfortable? And are they worth it?

Yes and yes they are worth it, unless you like to be paralyzed.

I'm shocked that you're clearly a gear advocate sporting a 1-piece, but you're questioning whether or not to protect a vital piece of your central nervous system.

My vote is absolutely, 110%, yes.

Yes, and I have a Knox Contour back protector for sale in the classifieds section.

$100 plus shipping.

Shameless plug, I know.

I leave mine on and The aftermarket one covers your tail bone.

Deff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not just for falling on your back, but also for when that dumb bitch checking her text messages rear-ends you and you end up back first in her windshield.

My jacket came with a foam pad. This is the back protector that I currently run 24/7.

I trust that most people can spot the difference in protection.

Pretty sure all trackday organizations require you wear a back protector. if you don't have one you will never do a trackday

Some trackday orgs actually require a back protector. I've actually been to a couple that do a gear check too.

This is what I've got. Saved me from what could have probably been a serious back injury, and quite possibly my life. No joke.
