Hey guys,

So I went to start the bike today and the battery was dead. Now I got this battery less than a year ago and this is the second time the thing has gone completely dead. I have 6000k HIDs, LED front turn signals, an LED integrated tail light, and an LED license plate bracket. Not much to drain it except maybe the HIDs.

I rode it in the canyons for an hour a week ago, and two hours a day before that. Since then it hasn't been moved, but something has to be wrong if it is completely dead in less than a week right? I'm not sure if this is an r/r problem or an alternator problem or something else. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sweet, thanks man! I'll check these and hopefully find out that the problem is something simple and cheap haha. Happy riding!

Install an HID kill switch asap bro. Your HID's do some serious damage to your entire charging system on inital start up. It is super easy, really cheap and a great bang for the buck mod. I have the link for my install in my sig. Not the best, it was my first write up 2 weeks after I joined dot net, but its something. There are some other suggestions by members a towards the end of the thread, check it out!

Also, if I were you Id buy a battery tender. You can leave the quick plug terminal on ur battery and plug ur bike in with a wall charger really quickly snd charge your bike up fully before your ride. Its awesome to know your bike is fully charged before every ride. Its less than 30 bucks and also another great bang for the buck mod.I love mine, and I use it frequently. Just my 2c's my friend!

Ps if you have a cheap aftermarket battery it could be the culprit as well, so get that tested!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Its funny I actually have both a battery tender plus and a kill switch for the HIDs. Thats why this whole problem is a little frustrating since I've done everything except for the expensive stuff. Again, thanks for the help!

Have you ever left the key in the ON position (lights and gauges on) with the engine off before? If you have done this at least once, it would drain your battery and give you charging issues even if the battery is only a year old.

if that hasn't happend, then you definitely have a drain somewhere.
