Hey everyone! Second post here but long time lurker. I recently swapped for some Matte Black and Gloss Red aftermarket fairings on my 2006 CBR. Any good products to keep the matte black clean, flat and maybe help protect the paint?

I also would like to hear what you guys use to revive weathered down black plastic (Like the clip-ons, front brake fluid reservoir, chain guard etc.) and help make it shine again.

I'm still using Honda polish on everything. But I'm not sure how that would work on matte finishes. Have you tried it? Does it leave too much gloss?

I haven't tried any products yet, I just got the fairings on and am waiting for the winter to pass before I start ripping again. I'm hoping someone will have some experience before I splurge on all the nice products, but maybe I'll just try the OEM stuff first and see how it goes!

Try a small section and see. If you use Honda polish I'd suggest you let it dry on everything except the matte finish. Maybe that will leave less of a shine.

For normal cleaning I just use dish soap. Been using it for 13 years now on the matte black fairings and it looks like the day I got it. The chain guard, handles, etc are faded but the bike is a 2008 so I expect that.
