My project bike has been giving me big trouble and I'm going crazy. Here are the details:

06
BAS bypassed
front relays are good
fuses look good
pump primes
new battery
good kill switch
12v from ignition
I think I am getting spark - I unplugged the coil clip from the harness and get voltage when I crank. It's not much but it's tough to stick the multimeter end in that small clip.

The bike cranks and cranks but doesn't start. If I give it gas when cranking, I hear some odd hollow/drumming sound. It's not loud but it is there.

The last time this bike ran was around 1-1.5 years ago. Any suggestions?

Make sure you have fresh fuel

If you have a power commander or anything unplug it

Pull the air filter and verify that injectors are functioning and you are getting fuel in the throttle bodies while trying to start it.

Pull the spark plugs, check for spark and make sure they aren"t fouled

Brand new fuel and no power commander.

If I pull the filter will be able to see clearly if the injectors are working? I've never done this before.

With the plugs, I assume I need to pull the radiator?

Thanks

When you pull the cover to get to the filter you may have a good enough view to see down the throttle bodies or at least smell gas if it is there.

You could also just pull the plugs and see if they are wet. Pull the radiator mounting bolts and pull it down out of your way

Ok, so I pulled a plug and coil and I am getting spark at the plug. As for fuel, I don't think I have any. Pump primes but I don't see any fuel down in the throttle bodies. Top rail is definitely not firing but I understand that is normal. But if I stick my finger down in the throttle body and crank the bike it is dry. Also, no fuel smell. Am I not getting my finger deep enough in there? If I am, what should I look for? Front relays are new, all the fuses are new, pump primes, kill switch is new, bas bypassed and the bike cranks fine. Cluster light sequence seems fine too.

I'm dying here guys. No suggestions? Where do the injectors get instructions to fire from? Is it direct from the ecu or is there a relay or something else somewhere in the middle there?

I would put a little fuel down the throttle bodies. Sounds like your pump might not be strong enough to prime the bike. Just guessing but if you don't have fuel then the pump isn't doing anything but making noise. Not enough pressure to get the fuel in there. If you pull your fuel rail line on the right side of the bike and then turn it on you can see for sure if it's pumping. Make sure you shoot it in a bucket.

And now that I think about it, maybe I just pinched the line when I put the tank back on. :)

Just an update, I am an idiot.

Fuel line was kinked to crap... Bike started right up no problem today.
