Took my bike up to the gap yesterday and noticed on a couple of strait that it gets to about 11000RPM's and then the RPM line will stop but the bike will keep gaining speed and it almost sounds like if I didnt get off the gas in that gear it would just keep going untill it blew a rod or something. Anybody have any ideas?

I tried red lineing it while holding in the clutch and it works fine... really weird.

Yes, almost sounds like its hitting a shot of nitrous when it stops and it gains speed really fast at 11,000RPM... really trips me out.

How about some specifics of your bike and yourself, i.e. model year, mileage, riding experience, etc

Its an 05 with maybe 12000 miles, and ive ridden a couple of years, and race WERA. Bike has never had a single problem till I noticed this yesterday.

Check your fuel pressure Cling. Sounds very similar to fuel starvation. You could have something stuck in the strainer or the fuel pump may be going bad. But usually the symptoms are around 10-11k rpm you hit a "wall". Can I assume your fuel is good?

Yep, fresh fuel, I would think fuel too but like I said, the cluster will read me at 11,000 rpm and stop, but the bike will keep gaining speed and you can hear that it is still going up in the RPM's!

Oh! My bad. I misunderstood what you were saying. Check the fuse for that gauge cluster. It may be going out or you may have a short in the wiring harness. Have you checked your PIN connectors?

A short could have something to do with it I guess because we rode in the rain for about 9 hours yesterday in NC, im going to unplug all the connectors and let them dry out, see if that works

12000 miles hmmm. Highly unlikely, but could it be that your clutch is slipping? Just taking a shot in the dark here.

definately check the plug on the back of your gauge cluster. that has been the little culprit to more than a few issues.
