okay i feel dumb because i should of listen to my dad to start the bike once and a while because i won't be riding the bike throughout winter.
now i with some nice weather i tried to start it, no luck.
so here is the low down, the FI primes everything starts up and it cranks. i checked the spark plugs it still looks good. it has some black build up on the tip.
maybe it is the spark plugs but i had it start up twice but died immediatly. maybe i dont know the correct procedure to unflood the bike. here is what i am doing. im opening the throttle and starting it up. tried this for the past three days and no luck please help.

I don't believe the wide open trick works on FI'd bikes. On carb'd bikes that's what you do. I believe you're supposed to just let it sit when flooded. Question though, have you tried bump starting the bike while having someone push you? Going down a hill is great. If trying to start it using the starter, don't open the throttle at all.

If you're looking at spark plugs then you need to look at the insulator to see if it's fouled, not the electrode. If the electrode is wet, then yeah, you've probably flooded it.

Another trick to use is to spray some starter fluid in your air filter. If there's any spark at all, it will fire!

The plugs are clean. No I haven't tried to roll it down a hill. Living in San francisco you should expect a hill on the left and on the right of you but I live on a pretty leveled plane. I'll try spray some starting fluid on the air filter. I did change the air filter to a BMC, maybe that the reason I'll check it out later tonight.

So there is no fuel on the plug when you pull it? your fuel pump is not sending fuel then. Did you take the upper fairing off or the headlights out during the winter? I would say it is your bank angle sensor that is unplugged or upside down (commonly done, unfortunately) It is located hehind your third eye between the headlights. Check that, it is an easy thing to check.

When you turn on the ignition, do you hear the fuel pump prime the lines? If so, then it might just be that the gas is bad. Top it off with some good fuel and run it through.

you should not start the bike during storage.
the stator wont charge enough just idling to put back the voltage required to start the bike.

there are many many many threads here on storage. taking the battery out and putting it on a tender is always the recommended procedure.

or better yet
take it out, then charge it the night before you are going for a ride.
fill the tank.
cover the bike.
never touch it until spring.
