Hey everyone is it just me or what ?

I have a black 2003RR I put like 30 miles on today in Pa. where it is like 30 degrees today (BUUUURRRRRR) my tank is sctched all up from my leathers, it did wax right back out but man it looked like poop.

I just bought this bike a few weeks ago, so is this common or did someone have the tank repainted?

Also had the RR up to 150mph at around 11,000RPMs in 6th gear is this about right ? Because Im not sure if it has the factory gearing.

Later..........

Uh... is it new? If not, thats why your tank looks like poop ;-) If so, :bitchslap: for doing 150 on a new motor...

See this thread. It was covered yesterday. Try using the search function for questions that have probably been asked a lot. Chances are, there are multiple topics on it.

As for the speed/rpm, check out the Speed Calculator. Hope this helps!

The tank cover doesn't have a clearcoat on it. It does scratch easily. I put honda polish on the cover before and after I ride each time and that seems to help keep up the durability. You could always get the "tankslapper" kit. www.tankslapper.biz

My bike has 950 miles on it when I bought it, and Im talking about the tank being scratch free untill Im on it from riding, not really deep scratches its just scuffed.

Ya the speed calculator says like 118 on the stock 16/43 set up, I guess maybe I was either wrong on my RPMS or Ive got some weird gearing going on on my ride....
