I have installed a new SS Galfer brake line on my 08 Honda CBR 600. I have bled the brakes from the MC and from the caliper til it was a steady flow with no bubbles. My problem is that my brakes are not hard when stepping on them. At a complete stop, my brakes will hold my bike in place but do very little to nothing at all when I'm on the run. This worries me. Any suggestions on what I have done wrong?

So basically my brakes will not stop my bike because I have done something wrong since changing to a new rear brake line. Thanks.

If you want to stop, use the front brakes. The rear are good for nothing but slowing you down very little, holding you at a stop, or locking the rear. Sounds like normal operation to me.

I'm sure I will be fine. I would like to find a better solution. I can tell that my rear brakes do not feel solid when I step on them. They feel mushy, spongey. Also noticed that on an incline, when I do try to use my rear brakes, I still keep rolling.

There is probably still some air in the fluid then. Try bleeding them again and if possible, don't let the reservoir get low on fluid.

See if you can get someone to help you do the bleed this time so that you can pump the hell out of the lever, then while holding it down, have someone else quickly open the bleeders just a little to gradually suck all the air out. It's just easier with 2 people. If that still doesn't help, maybe check the pad thickness, or even pull the caliper off and make sure the piston is clean and working right?

^ You should never need two people to bleed the rear brakes...unless you have tiny t-rex arms and can't even reach your **** to aim when pissing.

Don't make fun of my tiny arms!!!!:crackup:

I know it's not really needed, but it can make it a little easier to generate good braking pressure and have a totally separate set of T-Rex arms to work the nipples.
