RRPilot mentioned a couple of days ago and I remembered what he said about it but I had already ordered it and I had it in my hands. It's a very nice looking windscreen but It cracked. Unless you have some soft hands (not guerilla hands like me) any slight adjustment or movement will crack it. I was barely putting any pressure on it to get it aligned and a 1/4 of it broke off. It came in its original packaging but I think it might have come defective from the manufacturer. Some of the holes don't look like they are drilled straight through and they are not all even. Also the sides has some marks similar to pliers. It's like they clamped it down in a vise or held it with pliers to drill the holes.

I wrote the manufacturer about this and I'm waiting for a response. I'll keep you guys posted. Just wanted to further warn you in advance.

Out of curiousity, do you think it may have been more brittle and prone to break due to the cold temps outside? Just asking because I am looking into getting one myself.

That definately could have been a factor b/c I have an unheated garage. But when the package got here I didn't install it right away. In fact it sat for about 6 hrs in my heated house. I took off my sportech and then brought in the ZG. Its a nice screen, but the composites used to make it are not elastic at all. Maybe that is why they boast premium optical quality. I don't know. Regardless, be very very careful with it.

Just my opinion, but wouldn't it be kinda dumb to make a brittle windscreen!? Just seems like a step backwards to me. I thought it's also supposed to stop lil rocks and road crap from flying up and hitting you in the face/chest.

Really? I never really noticed it mainly b/c I was so excited I shredded the packaging. But comparing the two, Sportech is definately not as brittle. It feels totally different in your hands. The only reason I no longer like it is b/c I'm trying to get functional items. I told myself that I never get low enough to look through the windscreen, but I was just lying to myself. Plenty of times do I wish I could see through it esp on those cold days when being tucked in is really important.

Yeah; I just recently installed my ZG dark smoke double bubble. When I applied "light pressure" to manipulate the screen into position (specifically around the left center hole into the stock mounting hardware), a 1" to 1.5" crack in the screen formed. I should see if I can get a replacement. I figured that installation related as well as "bricks" coming at ya shattering the screen would void the warranty ...assuming there's a warranty. I saved the packaging so I can go read it. If I can't get it replaced, is there something I can do to "fill" the crack? or do something so that the crack doesn't expand? I'm probably SOL, eh?

The packaging does state that it is "made of acrylic plastic, which is NOT shatterproof." It also does state "Not all ZG windscreens are DOT certified."

Ouch. Caveat Emptor.

I tuck behind my PowerBronze all the time. I'd hate to think that a loose piece of gravel could shatter the screen I'm using for cover!
