Yep, I think that's the case. Going to the doctor as soon as I can. I checked my symptoms on WebMD and they all matched. My left hand has been giving me some trouble for a while. Mainly on the weekends I go hit the twisties pretty hard. I know it has a lot to do with body position, I'm putting too much weight on my wrists. Anyway, my middle and ring fingers on my left hand have pretty much gone numb, permenantly. I'm going to go get it checked out, and I'm going to start wearing a wrist brace when I ride.

Has anyone ridden with one of those hard braces? It will be on my left hand so it shouldnt affect anything really, right?

my hand usually goes numb only after a long while riding. i'm starting to think it's my crap-tasitc JR jacket because i don't have this problem with my 1 pc. AP* suit.

mine gets numb from the vibration but don't think its carpel tunnel.
well if you've got health insurance, you might want to have that checked out JUST IN CASE. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is a son of a bitch to fix.

I don't know how long your arms are but I get the problem with my Alpinestars jacket because the sleeves are too long (it cuts blood flow off to my hands) but I don't get the problem with my Helimot 1 piece because it was custom made and it fits properly. Over time this could make a minor problem into a major problem, like Carpal Tunnel.

Maybe it is my jacket, I dont know. But I havent ridden in about a week and those two fingers are still numb. There's something wrong with that. I dont have shorties yet but I'll get them.

I hope it's not serious nerve damage that would suck.

I don't see how you could get carpal tunnel in your wrist from riding unless your clutch is very stiff and you hit red lights all day long. When you get it checked you should bring in your gear too. Perhaps the doc will notice that something just isn't fitting right. People have brought up a good point that your jacket could be squeezing your forearm or something.

my cousin DOES have early signs of carpal tunnel, but its from years of being a mechanic (hes 26). But that riding has had a similar effect on him. so its not impossible

as an rn, get it checked out. you should not have a numb body part 1 week after riding. may be something simple like tendinitiis, or very complexed like compartment syndrome. so dont delay.

OK I just got it checked out. Sure enough, the doc says it sounds a lot like carpal tunnel. She gave me a wrist brace and some anti-inflammatory stuff and I have to go back in two weeks. She says if it doesnt get better I have to go to a hand specialist and possible have surgery. SUCKNESS!

but with the brace it seemed to help a lot and was not a problem riding for extended time!!!

Yeah the only thing I was worried about is how it will affect my riding. Haha...I hope it's not too different feeling. Anyway, I'll keep my good ole dot net family posted with any updates. Cheers.

Yeah ive been in this same boat, nasty shattered left wrist and i used EVS wrist braces for racing MX after that and its definitely something you have to get used to but you can ride just as good as before you just have to settle into them.
