I know the whole valve adjustment topic and driven down to the pits of hell and back but I see a lot of people on youtube talking about having to back the CCT out all the way before doing anything to the valves or TDC. But my 03-06 service manual doesn't say anything about the CCT in the Valve adjustment inspection section (4-11).

Do I only need to worry about the CCT if I actually have to swap shims and take the camshafts off?
Also does anyone know what range i need on the feeler gauges?
I'm looking at these currently http://www.sears.com/search=feeler gauge

Just posted this on an older thread and then saw yours. If you do need to make adjustments you can make your own cam chain tensioner tool to avoid paying $80 on ebay. I successfully did this for my F4i but I lost the tool so I have to make another for the 600RR. I used sheet steel from Lowes
