Hey everyone,

I'm right in the middle of fitting a new chain to my 05 cbr, and i've ran into a bit of a snag. No matter how much I adjust, the top portion of the chain always seems to come into contact with the swing arm. does anyone else experience this? or is it normal? I've never thought to check the clearance there before, and usually its under the chain guard, so I've never really taken notice.

Thanks.

You should have a chain guide on the top of the swingarm that the chain rides on and makes contact with. If that's where its hitting its definitely normal, anything else and maybe you should post some photos

The chain is supposed to sit on top up near the motor...

Adjust to give 30mm of slack at the bottom of the chain when the bike is on it's side stand. If you make it to tight it will either bind the suspension up, or worse it could snap and break you, the bike or both...
