·just watched the video. considering what i was taught about deadly force in the coast guard i would say they were even authorized to shoot him. his size could easily be considered a deadly weapon. he threw those cops like rag dolls. i would have shot his ass.
Yeah, and I like how the news stations are choosing not to air the first part of the tape where the officers are clearly telling him to step back and to put his hands behind his back. Also, the didn't show where he is actually attacking the officers. But instead they only show the beating and his resisting arrest. Talk about biased reporting... :cussing:

The news I watched back at hoem showed pretty much the whole video like posted on that web page but it didn't have the audio that that site had. I think the vid alone is kinda questionable...but once you add the audio in, there is no doubt in my mind that the officers were just doing their job. He coulda avoided the whole thing by just putting his hands behind his back instead of putting up a struggle. In Texas, were I'm from, they probably woulda shot his ass after he went after the one cop. You just don't pull that S^&T with cops, cause they pretty much have the authority to do whatever they need to do to subdue your ass. :bitchslap: What an idiot. I think his death is his own damn fault. :?

Because they only allow 4 causes of death: Homicide, Suicide, Natural, and Accidental.
The death didn't fall in to any one category, so it was labeled homicide. It was his drugged and obese body fighting with the police that caused his death. The coroner clearly states that the injuries inflicted by the police did NOT cause his death. It was the fact that he was resisting and struggling when his body was hyped up on drugs with an enlarged heart.
i think it was an excessive use of force ( a regular weapon of the police and military, HELL the entire US government).
You mean to tell me if i got in a fight with someone and beat them till they died i wouldnt go to jail?!? even if i used a weapon against bare hands, and even if it was in self defense!?!
True he is a huge guy, but officers have tools and training to use not adrenaline and anger. They could have easily tackeled him to the ground and spray him with pepper spray till he co-operated, maybe a hit here and there, but i counted over 30 hits with the baton, and 4 or 5 knees, not to mention the weight of 6 cops on top of you, i dont care how big and heavy you are.

·you go fight with a 400lb guy who wants to kill you. if you had a baton would you use it? if you had a gun would you use it?
you have to understand that pepper spray tends to just piss off people on drugs (other than pot) and not incapacitate them.
these cops were trying to get this guy in cuffs so they could stop fighting him. he wouldn't do it. that means he still wants to whoop their asses. had they just been nice and let him get back up it would have happened all over again.
those cops should get a promotion for not using their guns on him and making the correct decision to use the batons. i would have shot his ass in a heartbeat. had they really wanted to kill him they would have used their guns, it would have been much easier.

When me and my 300lb buddy get drunk we like to kick eachothers asses. I consider myself a strong guy for my size and very athletic. When that kid gets it in his head that he want's to move me...There's not a thought in my mind that I could stop him even if my life depended on it. I doubt my roomate and his roomate could get him off me if they needed to! He's 100lbs lighter than that guy and not on PCP or driven like that guy was. Pepper Spray? Beat stick? I woulda probably shot him or at least snapped his legs in two with that beat stick. There's no way I'd be nice and hit him center mass with it as he's trying to woop up on me. There's no way I woulda allowed that struggle to go as long as it did either. I don't blame the cops one bit for what they did. If he didn't want the crap kicked outta him he shoulda submitted to them. As far as self defence for yourself. If you could prove it...video like that or ANYTHING, I'm SURE you wouldn't go to jail. You'd just be questioned a few times like these officers will be and THE END.
no actually if it was self defence and you had a true fear for your life you would not go to jail, you don't have to do it tit for tat, if a guy is gonna strangle you to death you CAN shoot his ass, you may use all force needed. look it up, secondly, no those old ass cops cannot stop a 400lbs man flippin out on pcp and cocaine I'm sorry to tell you, you watch too many kung fu movies with little old men bringing down giants, I have studies Shotokan for 15 years now and I tell you what it's a little different when **** hits the fan, did you see those cops, they both looked like they were in their 50's there was no reason for them to put themselves in any more danger than they were in.dviii said:

I agree 100% with the cops..., thanks god it wasnt me , because that guy would have a 2 bullets in his head.

I'm totally for hard force with people like this. although I think just to shoot him is lacking some basic capabilities in the police force.
