Can a dead battery cause the engine to lose power due to a weakened ignition system on a bike that is 100% healthy otherwise.

Yes. I experienced this on my old GS 500E. That said, I recently flatlined the battery in my 600RR, put in on a battery tender overnight, and I can feel no difference in performance, so it's more about the current condition of the batter than if was ever dead.

I would imagine that it's possible if not highly likely. Spark plugs run off of voltage. Why do you ask?

I noticed that my wheelies are not coming up as they used to and i'm experiencing a short dash blackout when starting the bike, early signs of a dead battery.

Or a corroded ground or a loose PIN connector.
