Went to Deal's Gap last week and took a bunch of photos; figured I'd post a few of the ones I'm particularly fond of...

At the lookout at one end of the Tail of the Dragon

Some random spot on RT 28

Overlook at Stecoah Gap

One of the overlooks on Cherohala Skyway (favorite road from the trip)

Fontana Lake

Fontana Lake

And then some from my GoPro while riding on the TotD, with some heavy post-processing to add some dramatic effect to an otherwise boring photo. Admittedly, my line wasn't the best in any of these.

Thanks.. this was my first trip down there. We were greeted with style, just turned onto Rt 129 from 72 and saw a bunch of Harley riders pulling their friend's bike out of a ditch and the rider standing there road rash down his forearm bleeding pretty good. Looks like we'd just missed it happening by a few minutes.

Great pics! I was there from 6/12-6/20 but I don't recall seeing your bike. I was on a white Ducati 899 Panigale and my buddy was riding his naked CBR954RR.

It's an awesome place, I'm trying to figure out a way to move closer because 1 week a year isn't enough for me. haha

I wasn't on the actual TotD too much. We were only there 6/15-6/17. Only really hit the TotD on the 17 which sucked b/c that's when it seemed like the area started getting crowded. We went through there different times on 6/15 and 16 and it was never really busy but the 17 was a parade for the most part.

Nice pics! I've ridden TOTD more times than I can count, although I will say I prefer the Cherohala Skyway more. Did you check the killboy website to see if he got any good pictures?

Yep, 100% agree, Cherohala was much more enjoyable. Only bad thing when I was on it, they were running the large mowers so it was throwing grass clippings all over the road so had to be careful in a few spots. I checked out the photographers and they did get a few of me from the times I went through. A couple of Killboy's came out well enough I'll probably purchase them.
