hi so i replaced my fork seals and after much :banghead: i got them both done.

first one i did i followed the book step by step until it came to unscrewing the bolt at the very bottom recessed in the axel holder. I attempted to loosen and and i come out a lil then just spun forever. So i said :fyou: tightened it back up and just popped the outer tube off and went on my way no problems from there.

Second one want smooth as butter besides having to replace the bearing guide.

Now im putting them them back on the bike and i notice the first one i did is about 1/2 in longer than the other.... you can pull out the shorter one to make it even but it sucks right back in.

turns out i made a couple mistakes right from the start. excuse me if the terms arnt correct. but i had the nut on the damper rod down too low, then when pinching the damper rod to the longer inner assemble i tightened it using the larger fork bolt on top not the small one inside the fork, which caused a list of problems relating to the adjustment. and somehow all that added up caused the different lengths.

oh well lesson learned and now fork seal will be easy as pie.

I personally think it's better to screw them up, then learn what you did and put it back together. I did that the first couple times I changed them, now it takes me about 30 minutes to do the whole process.

You learn better that way.

you learned a lot by doing this, and you really cracked me up with the title. i just had to come see for myself.

take some pics in the future and document your work, that could really come in handy for members down the road.

glad you got it fixed, sounded like it could have been a loooong weekend.
