wow. just wow.
Same problem here sometimes w/ my 03. So if I'm not on the hwy and it's hot. I don't use my highbeam when I'm on the street dealing w/the red lights.for some reason if my bike gets really hot, like 220 degrees and i turn it off and turn it back on it seems like it struggles to start. my buddies bike does the same thing. anybody else have this? sorry if i'm thread hijacking.
I can vouch for this. I just bought a 1A charger from Advance Auto parts because I started have battery and starting problems about 2 wks ago. I let it slow charge for 24hrs. And it fires right up everytime even in the heat and w/ my highbeams just like I bought a new battery. I had problems last year so I took it to the dealership and told them about the heat problem and to put an 05 r/r on and they said ok but of course they didn't they jsut replace it. They had my bike for 2wks and i wanted to ride. Maybe if i go on Vacation I will take it a gain and give it another try. It's covered under warranty anyway i might as well use it.Everyone needs to put a volt meter on there batteries and verify the voltage FIRST! Don't start buying parts until you know what the problem is. 99% of the time all you need to do to correct this problem is charge the battery every few months to full capacity. Keep the voltage above 12.8v MINIMUM and you won't have a hot starting problem.
