I had to go buy a new battery today cus i let my bike sit for three weeks without a battery tender. S*cks big time. New battery cost me $70 with a 20 % discount and i got the junior battery tender on sale for $20 at cycle gear in sf
Yeah I would definitely seek some type of warranty compensation. I let my bike sit for almost two months while it was transfered from Miami Fl, to Cali. It suffered some drain but the bike started up after a minute. I believe it is fairly accurate to say most batteries will experience about 1% of drain per day. Given you can't crank up a bike with only 10% charge but you get the idea.
Mine sits for 3-weeks at a time on a regular basis (my work schedule) and has never had a problem starting up, or showing any indication of a low battery.
Was told by the Service Tech that these bikes due not charge the battery at anything below 5000 rpm. Do you have any aftermarket electricals that would be draining the battery.....or do you spend alot of time in traffic below 5K?
