drivers license vs. track riding

Got a question for you guys that do trackdays....

A buddy of mine that is planning on getting involved in trackdays with me this summer unfortunately had himself a dwi(driving while to many drinks) a few months back. My question is, are you required to have a valid drivers license in order to go through the necessary classes in order to ride on a track. Or any other pertenant info. Or if riding on a track requires a valid drivers license.

any info would be greatly appreciated

I have been on the track with 13 year olds. So I guess an actual liscence isn't necessary. I would ask the actual track. I have not ever been asked for mine, however, I wouldn't want to say across the board...
I don't think it's required either. If you call any places up though, you might want to leave out the DWI story. :bitchslap:  The more I think of it, there should be no reason at all a drivers license is required.
Uhh, what club do you plan on riding with? :?:

not sure yet.....
Thought about doing that cornerspeed school at VIR...
He just wanted to know for sure before he bought all his plastics. He's got a 02' gixxer 1000.
a driver license is not required for a trackday at any track I've ever ridden.

I wondered if you might say something like that.......
I've never been asked for a drivers license. A track is not a public road.
when you going E have you dont the track school at VIR yet? if not when you planning on going?

ASAP...you do trackdays as well? If so we need to hook up for sure. Living in the same city and all.
nope but i was going to start this year let me know we can go the same time, i need to finish safety wiring my bike
safety wiring for a track day is simple. Fill and drain plug and oil filter.

In May, D&D import cycles in Norfolk will be hosting a track day with Cornerspeed.net. $185 for all the instruction you can handle.

thanks for the heads up
At a track day no, I don't think so. Several track schools will require one though.

Cornerspeed.net has a link to safety wiring and their rules on their website.
