Big hoohar going on about this

http://www.crash.net/motorsport/bsb/news/155921-0/gse_withdrawal_triggers_rider_frenzy.html

The team will be a big loss to the paddock but they've got only themselves to blame. Basically 2008 BSB rules were drawn up earlier this year going down the route of more restrictive (and less costly) Supersport regulations for engine tuning. These regs just happened to allow 4-cylinder 1000's and twins up to 1200cc. So this neatly allowed Ducati's 1200 onto the BSB grid. Supersport rules include standard pistons, dead simple. If Ducati's standard pistons aren't up to racing they should redesign them so they are, not ask for the rules to be re-written again just to suit them.

so what exactly are these pistons ducati says they need? The team owner said they are not performance enhancing - they are for safety. If that's the case, why not?

They've got to be racing the same pistons in World Superstock.... if everyone is using a stock rotating assembly why the gripe? but then again, if they weren't griping they wouldn't be ducati.

All hail King Casey.

Good for BSB to stand up firm on their rules. The organizers (BSB & WSBK) already bent over backwards for them. Sheesh!
