well as we all know its been getting really hott latley and this summer is going to be the hottest yet...

so heres my story:

so today it was about 95 degrees i rode today and was forced to take the streets.. most of it is stop and go due to all the damn traffic lights here in socal.. so while im sitting at the lights im just keeping an eye on the engine temp... i think the highest i seen the temp get today was 235 degrees... i know that crazy hott... usually on the freeways i run anywhere from 170-185 and street riding on a normal day im usually at 210- 220. but as of now im going to invest in some water wetter or engine ice or some kind of coolant... cause 235 is waaaaayyy too hot for my liking... kinda makes me nervous.. but let me remind u i was at a high 220's and while at the light i hit 235.. then the light turned green and as i accelerated the air flow took it back down to 220..


so my question to every one is:

how high has ur engine temp climbed too... just kinda curious what kind of numbers u guys are dealing with... weather its hott days at the track or just cruising the streets ... and what kinda of damage can be done with ur engine at that type of tempiture...

and your 220 on highway????


your high in tempts., thinking you have air bubbles.

yeah my fans on...

and the 220 is just on street... im 175-185 on highway...

where would the air bubbles be?:tard:

The RR no matter what the year of production is known to run hot
The fan comes on between 220 F and 223 F is normal
while moving an average between 175 F to 185 F is great
I see the 235 F while at long traffic lights all the time
regardless being my 03 or Miss O'Seven do i worry about
it no not really

^^^ this makes me feel a whole lot better... cause my bike runs great... just sometimes it gets a little too hott for my likeing...

thats a tough question mang. :book1:
youre gonna have to take apart the bike, radiator, hoses etc to find them.
they can be anywhere and everywhere. :toothy4:
its a pain in the ass i tell ya. :all_cohol

damn that sounds like trying to find a needle in a hay stack..:all_cohol

i really hope moes right and its just average temps for RR's i really dont want to be searching for some airbubbles all weekend...

Don't even blink unless the bike gets above 240°F. You can run Engine Ice and get a little decrease in overall temps. But nothing short of straight distilled water is going to show any real change.

damn 240 i was all catious at 235.. thanks for the info... i wasnt really aware of the average temps of other riders engines... well thats goo dto know my engines not going to BLOW u or anything... lol

If you are getting really nervous you could also run a bypass switch for the fan so that way if you get stuck at a light you can flip it on prior to when it would normally come on. That way you can easily control engine temps while not moving

Might seem like a great idea but that would kill the battery within no time
Some RR's out there are having major battery issues as it is

Sure man i am always around and if i am not just send me a pm
will respond to it asap my 03 RR was sold with 42 k miles
ran like a champ no issues at all it even had the original battery
original spark plugs when it got sold the RR love is always
unconditional as long as you treat her right :five:

I always hated using F for some reason. Just like using C just cause it's easier to remember. 0 C is freezing and 100 C is boiling. I forget but I thinks it's like 120 C when engine is dangerously hot and the little warning starts blinking but usually on hot days on stop and go my bike stays around 100C.
