What's happening, forum!

I tried to install a scorpio i900 alarm on my 07 600rr, using the provided t-tap splicers (because I couldn't find the plug for my factory connector kit). Instead of connecting the alarm wire to the orange wire I connected it to the yellow one with red stripe (I didn't find an orange one). The alarm kinda worked but the engine won't start.

I took off the alarm and all the wires and connectors, but no change: the electrics work, the starter motor turns but no engine start.

How can this be fixed? Have you ever had a problem like this? I really appreciate your input!

Going to need a bit more info, such as which yellow/red wire? A photo of the location may also do the trick.

T.y. for the reply! It was the yellow/red wire close to/behind the battery - I'll take pics tomorrow and post. Also the bike has some blue lights and some LED's - so the electric system is a bit modified.

Your alarm would have only worked with the starter button pushed...

Which wires did you cut to put the alarm in?

Is it a relay output on the alarm?

I didn't really cut the wires, I used those Scorpio y-tap connectors to cut into them a little. I used a brown wire, a yellow one with the red stripe, a green one, and a brown one. They are the thin wires under the seat close to the battery. I don't know if that helps, but I'll get pics tomorrow. The alarm was working even when the bike was off.

Ok then...

Can you hear the fuel pump priming? It just sounds like a whirring noise from under the tank for about 3 seconds when you first turn the bike on.

Check the fuses first off, you will find them on the left hand side.

Once your bike is running again I will show you where to connect your alarm up.

No Nico, that's the whole problem - the fuel pump doesn't prime anymore like it used to - there is no noise. I took it to a local mechanic and he checked the fuses and relays, and he poked around some other wires with a voltmeter, and he said the problem might be that I somehow blew the ECU and he sent me to a Honda dealership. But here are the pics of the wires I used: the first pic is just to show their location, and in the last 2 the wires I used were the light blue one, yellow with red stripe, (and in 3rd photo) brown and green one.

Again thanks for all your help, here are the pics:

In this pic I used the yellow/red wire and the light blue wire:

And in this one the brown one and green one:

Also, is there such a thing as an ECU check (like a car computer check at the dealership), can they just hook up a device to the ECU and see if it's broken?
Because since the fuel pump is not priming, the only thing that it could be is a broken ECU or broken fuel pump, right?
Thanks again

Well, for starters your brown and green ones are for your diagnostics port, so not a good idea to cut into those ones.

I'm pretty sure the blue one you cut will have been the high beam power....

And the yellow/red one was your starter wire...

So in short you possibly have damaged the ecu by plugging into the DLC port.

Not really but to check that it is the ecu that's stuffed pull out the fuel cut relay and jump the black/white wire to the brown one. If the pump comes on its your ecu or relay.

To make sure its not the relay swap it with the fan one.

Yep it was the ECM, the dealership determined it in 2 hours of $85/hr labor :(
so the total damage I did in 30 minutes is about $1200. Oops

Very good chance you fried your ECU or your starter relay. For future reference, never connect to a wire they don't tell you to in the manual.

And the bike turned over, just didn't start so the starter solenoid was still fine....

Yeah that would be great, thanks. I actually have the factory connector harness, I just couldn't find where to plug it in so I used the t-tap splicers.

Can you post up a photo of the factory connector harness?

Do you have the accessories harness to go with it?
