This may be a stupid question but I am new to riding(6-8months) my 05 fell from second to nuetral the other day and this is the first time. I did not go into nuetral but i was riding in second when it just fell to nuetral. do i need to adjust the shifter rod or just operator error...

dude, its actually a typical earlier honda thing. mine does it every once in a while.. (but i ride everyday). i ve read a couple threads on it and our generations 03-04 and 05-06 seem to do it more than the newer if the newer do at all. gettin the power shift is the way to go. or thats what im told. what my bike seems to do more than anything is miss second all entirely and just stay neutral (makes me look like a total doosh when just cruisin.) second is touchy.

I did that TWICE yesterday, I hardly ever miss second but freaking twice in one day, yeah, ya feel stupid too.

that was pretty common on my old kawi zzr 600
the shift forks would bend easily and it would bounce out of second to N

i would miss 2nd on my 600rr every now and then but once i went to GP shift it never happened again
