After about 3-4 months since my 2006 gixer was stolen, i went ahead and replaced it with a 2006 cbr600rr, also got a new helmet to go with the bike.

Welcome to the site man! How do you like the 600rr compared to the suzuki?

BTW: sorry to hear about your gsxr.
Here are a few things I felt that are different: pros and cons

Honda 600rr:
I feel more stable on it, the front end seem shorter so it seems "smaller" to me which is easier for me to handle. I like the powerband of the 600rr more, although I feel it doesnt have the top end the suzuki had. 13.5k < feels like power is dieing off, compared to suzuki 13k < keeps on pulling. Tons of mods avialiable. NEEDs slipper clutch and steering damper. I guess from having one on the gixxer i never really noticed how it felt without one until I rode my 600rr. My hands go numb sometimes riding the 600rr from virbation, where as on the gixxer I never had that problem.

Suzuki GXSR 600:
I really like the styling of the new gixxer 600. I really like the gear indicater, the red/amber display. The handles bars were more comfortable on the gixxer then the 600rr. Slipper clutch + steering damper really helped out, the bike was very stable. The suzuki had very poor mapping in low/mid rpms. The bike felt like it would bog at wot under 10k rpms, whereas the 600rr takes off like a rocket.

overall, I am very pleased with the 600rr, I cant wait to start cleaning it up.

Good choice, I have the same bike, 2 weeks old. I have the flush mounts but dont know how to install them. I also got 20 bucks worth of dynamat for the vibration under the tank cover, but couldnt figure out how to take the cover off. 2 screws in the front, 2 under the seat and it wouldnt even budge.

thanks for the pros & cons
I'm looking in the future to get the gsx-r as my dream machine 600rr is abit too tall and aggressive for my riding.
How was the mpg on the gsxr?
yeah, the 600rr does have a bit higher seat then my gsxr. I have to tip toe on the 600rr, but it really isnt that bad..

If i were you i would wait until the 07s come out..

the new kawa is pretty sweet, also the new 600rr

nice decision coming to the double r fam. it is a great bike. once you start moding expect the snowball effect like anything else. i sat on a 750 a couple of days ago and the seat was lower and more comfortable. oh well i guess we pay the price in that department.:(

07 RR should be more comfortable as the handlebars were raised but the seat still looks like it has no padding for ur bum bum.

Can you notice any weight difference? Supposively the gsxr is 10 pounds more
