On a more serious note i have yet to bring up the front either.. got it up maybe 1 inch on a hard accel that wasn't on purpose. But i think my problem is i'm scared of messing my baby up if it goes wrong.

I just did my first one a couple of days ago. I always manage to get it up like 3 inches off the ground but the other day I hit like 9:00 and it scared me so I let it drop. Forks didn't slam but it wasn't as comfortable as I'd like. Best way I found to do it is go pretty slow blast it to 8k dip the throttle and blast it! It just caught me off guard b/c I was expecting another 2in. wheelie and all of a sudden I see sky. What a rush!

My buddies and I have an extreme video we will be putting out of all the stupid extreme stuff we have done over the coarse of this year and I will be the last segment on the vid with my front wheel waiving at the camera!

kt157,
Same thing for me. I would like to pull the front wheel up, but as a Grad School student, paying for the damage in the event of a drop would most likely force me to get rid of the bike. I love riding and would hate to have to give her away because of a messed up wheelie attempt. Maybe when I start to have some money I will be a little more brave.

it powers up easy in first. gp shift and its real easy to ride a sit down from 1st to 2nd. I wouldn't recommend stand-ups in first tho. Too much power imo for practicing. get going about 40 on a nice flat open road (preferably no other cars around) and practice stand-ups in 2nd. they take a while to get, but my bike comes up easy now. 3rd I've only only gone a decent distance 2-3 times. lot harder but you'd be amazed at what are bikes can do. I went 1 up in the back, 1 down in the front. Makes things a bit easier

man, they're actrually pretty easy. I weigh about 215 and at about 6-7k rpm i goose the gas once, let off, then nail it and up she comes. If you can find a little hill or bump in the road be careful-it comes up so much easier that way. also don't be tense while holding the handlebars. Try it a couple times in a parking lot--you'll get it.

temp helps

now that it is colder, mine comes up more than I would like! I only weigh
about 160 (when wet) around 9000 it comes up all the time. Like some of you have stated, I let off quickly because I do not want to mess her up. I want to become more comfortable at it. Going up or even down a hill makes it come up easier.
