i put a new chain setup on my bike. everything is 520.

14 tooth in the front 45 tooth in the rear so -2, +2

everything is fine except when i get to 6k+ rpms the front sprocket seems to rattle like hell. it's on their tight though.

i noticed on the sprocket there is a side with more space (steel) than the other side. i put the side with more steel facing the engine and the side with less steel facing the screw that holds the sprocket on.

the screw is TIGHT on their so i dont believe that is the problem.

did i possibly put the sprocket on reversed? it's not a big difference the amount of spacing between the right and left side of the sprocket but i think it is a little.

thanks guys

also dont flame me i rode the bike up and down the block to listen for abnormal sounds. i always wear a helmet and maybe i just dont hear the rattle? dunno this is a pretty loud rattle. my buddy said he couldnt hear it when i went by at around ~30mph. i guess it could be the gas tank rattling although i doubt it. maybe wearing a helmet muffles the sound.

thanks again.

Is the chain tension correct? I ask, because usually when chains are loose, they rub on the swingarm and make a grinding/rattle sound.
