Well guys, here's another fuel pump issue. So my fuel pump wont prime when i turn the ignition on with the engine run switch on. I'm pretty sure it's an electrical issue but I'm no genius. I have an 08 CBR600RR. There is an aftermarket tail light switch right under the driver seat that I had to fix today....which means I had to adjust the wires right by the fuse and relay box. I ended up fixing the tail light but I'm not sure if I bumped something around the fuse/relay box. (that's just a guess) again the fuel pump worked perfectly earlier today but then tonight when i turned the ignition on the fuel pump will not prime. When I turn the ignition on everything comes on, instrument panel and all. What should I do????

Crazy bike.... so I had my bike all loaded up in my truck and ready to take to the dealer to get it worked on. I was even parked at my friends apartment to pick him up to bring with me. As I was waiting on him I thought what the heck...why not try starting it just ONE MORE TIME. Hopped in the back of my truck, put the key in, turned it on, and the FUEL PUMP PRIMED! it started up wonderfully. I proceeded to take it home and unload it and I've been riding it around now for a few days. The only thing weird is that the clock is not accurate now. This leads me to believe that it was almost surely an electrical problem. I still have an appointment with the dealer to see if they can maybe prevent it from doing it again so I don't get stranded somewhere.... what does everybody think about this?

So you're saying the black terminal might be loose and to just tighten it? If that's the case then why did the instrument panel turn on when I turned on the ignition?

Electrical problems are weird. One guys' headlight grounded through his turn signal making his headlight normally off but flash when using his turn signal.

With a post count of 8... hang out on this forum more often and you will see how many (weird) problems are solved with a loose battery connection. I would guess that the loose connection at the battery is not your problem but it's the easiest thing to check before going to the dealership.

Took it to the stealership to get it worked on. They think the problem was some corrosion in the killswitch. They took the killswitch apart, cleaned the corrosion, put some grease stuff in it, and now it works fine. They also said that you should never use your kill switch unless it's an emergency. Just turn off the bike with the key and always leave the killswitch in the on position...................now i have to figure out how to get the brake light working. I think they may have messed up an electrical thing so that now I have no brake light, just turn signals and tail lights. (btw, I have custom turn signals, brake light, and tail lights) anybody have any ideas? I'll check the fuse today and also check to see if the wires didn't get messed up somewhere, but I doubt this will fix the problem. That would be waaay to easy.
