So i have been working on it for the last couple months, we pulled what was left of the bike completely apart and cleaned everything up then starting sourcing parts for it and the bike is now complete but i cannot get the fuel pump to prime!!! i jumped the BAS cause i thought that might be the problem but still got nothing.... i checked all the fuses in the rear and the ones on the front left side and they are all good..... i tested all the relays and they all click but the fuel pump one wont click when it pluged in.... i jumped the fuel pump and it works...... im not sure what else to do!!! somebody please help me!!

I'll tell you what happened to me and you can take it or leave it.... in september of 06 I bought a 04 RR that had been wrecked my problem was similar, but before I rebuilt it I test started the bike and it fired up fine.... well to make a long story short I put the bike back togeather fuel pump wouldn't prime, I did the same things jumpped the BAS, tested fuses relays and replaced them all to be on the safe side, but nothing would turn the fuel pump on except for me jumpping the pump relay..... so I asked for advice and none would help so i replaced the wiring harness not it, I replaced the ECU but used an 05 didn't help and then I looked at the wiring schematic between the 03/04 and 05/06 and it wasn't the same there were alot of simalarities so i bought a 04 ecu popped that sucker in and the fuel pump primed and fired right up... keep in mind the bike only had 1400 miles on it when this all happened so to be the ECU was unthinkable... Im not saying go start replacing things... but I recommend test everything and use 03/04 parts for the engine because even the wiring harnesses are diiferent and I hope this helps you and if you have any question hit me up because this happened to someone else on here and thats what solved his problem too.

yeah i test fires the wrecked bike before i tore it down everything was fine.... i used the same harness and ecu so i dont know why that would be the problem.... i really dont want to start buying parts because it was running before i tore it down..... The FI light does come on and stays on if that means anything also......

I read that post but my fuel pump will prime when i jump the relay but the bike still wont start.... Any other sensors that would be cutting spark and fuel?

Could be a bad relay, does it get power when they run/stop is turned on? T

Also, how did you "i jumped the BAS" are you using the correct wires to jump it?

Bad/unhooked sensor, Bad relay, bad kill switch, blown fuse, Broken wire, bad ECU... the list goes on a little further.
By going through it with a volt meter... it will tell you where to look.

yeah i thought about the relays being bad to but i switched them up and still nothing.... i pulled the relays out and gave them power and all of them clicked so i assume that means they are all good? i jumped the bas by crossing the red/white wire with the green wire and the pump still wont prime.... could it maby be a ground? even though everything else works perfect i.e. lights/fan/horn

Anything done to the ignition? 03-04 has a zener diode to let the bike know it's OK to turn the fuel pump on. This can go bad but not known for it. T

It's underneath the key cylinder. I believe it's the pink wire that supplies 9volts to the fuel pump to turn it on. Too much it won't do anything, too little and the same thing. T
Volt meter to check the voltage going the fuel pump when key and run on. T

No I was say my problem ended up being the ecu and I was telling you when you get to that and thats your problem make sure you get the one for your year because the ECU's are not interchangeable
