so, who else wears full gear to work on a daily basis? i'm planning on riding to work tomorrow for the first time. i will be wearing helmet, jacket, gloves, overpants and boots. i'm curious to the reaction that you get...i have a feeling people will be looking at me like i'm from outer space...oh well :p

I wear Jacket, Helmet, and Gloves. But I only have a 1.4 mile ride to work(Yes, I know 90% of accidents happen 5 miles from home). I guess I would be too lazy throw on pants and boots as well. I guess it all depends on how far you ride, conditions outside, and how safe you truelly want to be (i.e. how much your willing to gamble with your life).

I think most people could care less. I work in a professional environment, and some people might look at me strange, but they are well aware of my bike obsession. As long as I'm professional apprearing once I start my job thats all that matters. Doesnt matter what I look like on the way there.

ohhh reeaaalllyy!
leave an extra nice set of your professional clothing at work.
the next day strap your lid, throw on your dress socks,
dress shoes and leather gloves and head to work just wearing
a wifebeater and your tighty whiteys. better yet, a jock strap.

I wear my helmet, gloves, A*s boots, A*s jacket (textile for summer and leather the rest of the year) and either a pair of jeans or padded textile riding pants. Sure, they look at me funny, especially other people who ride because almost nobody wears gear in Japan, but they usually stop when they see the bike. Anyway, I have to change clothes at work so I might as well be protected on the way there - there's no point in not wearing the gear.

I wear my jacket, gloves and boots. I keep a pair of shoes to change into at work. Yes you will get some looks and questions but who cares, it's your butt if you were to go down, not theirs.

I wear helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots right now. I keep an old pair of dress shoes in my desk at work. Soon will add textile pants over my work pants once they come in. My work is business casual, and I get some looks right now. We'll see if it gets worse when I add pants to the mix.

But in all reality, most of the old guys think my jacket and helmet are so "cool".

If u aren't wearing all gear they screw u in the service? I was only aware of pants (non-leather), boots (riding boots), gloves, helmet, and jacket as considered "full gear" for the military. Can anyone confirm this?
