My 03RR taillight and gauge cluster fuse (10A) keeps blowing on me as soon as I start it up. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause it to blow? I have been working on it for a couple days now and still no luck. Any help would be great.

I had this same problem recently what I did was disconnect the 3rd eye, the tag light, the tail light, and the gauge cluster turned on the bike (the fuse dident blow) so I plugged in them one by one till it blew, I found my instance the wire for my tag light was Pinched against the frame and there was a hole in the wire causing a short.

Yea I ended up running out of gas because I dident have the gauge to tell me when I was low lol, I also recommend getting the Clymer manual it has a wonderful color wire diagram that helped a lot on figuring out what was connected to that circuit

do you have your turn signals hooked up? If I remember from when I originally installed my IT and front flush mounts I didn't have the signals hooked up when I turned the key on and ended blowing the fuse

Didn't realize the 3rd eye was on that fuse. Found bare wire to the 3rd eye.

The turn signals are hooked up. Flush mounts in the front have the ground wire and the solid light blue hooked and the same are connected to the new aftermarket turn signal perch. They worked fine for a couple days after I installed the perch and then just quit weir king all of a sudden. Kinda wondering if they could have a short in the wiring somewhere. The turn signal fuse is not blowing at all. I bought the new perch cus it was doing the same thing with the stock perch and I thought the perch was the issue since the fuse was not blowing. I traced wire hooking up the turn signals to make sure I was connecting the correct wires. It had flush mount and IT when I bought it so I knew they wires were different then stock.

Streetfighter style RR (street legal stunt bike) A lot of wires on the harness has been taped up so water don't bother. I am going to be off work in a few hours and will see if that is the issue. I will post as soo as I find out. Thanks for your help here bro.

If that were my bike I would take all the fairings off and look for more jacked up wiring and fix it, I always solder all my connections and cover them with heat shrink, harbor freight sells a heat srink assortment kit for like 5 bucks 120 pieces

As for the turn signals, I am at lost what could cause them not to work. They will flash only once on the cluster but will pick and choose days it wants to work or not. Everything is connected and connected properly.

What's wrong with the turn signals? Are they blinking supper fast or even solid?

They won't kick on at all most days but every once and awhile they decide to work. Everything is connected properly and the fuse is not blowing. I did think that the switch as worn out so I rebuilt it and it didn't fix anything. So I bought a new aftermarket perch. Installed it and they worked fine for 2 days then quit an hasn't worked since. There are 3 wires left over that also ran to the turn signals(LB/W to the left turn, O/W to the right turn, and a BLK/BR not sure were it leads).

Update: just went out for a ride and the signals on the cluster started blinking(very dim flash) but still nothing out of the actual turn signals. Don't know if that could help narrow the problem down.
