So, my gauge cluster is not working properly on my 2012. Would like some more ideas to try and trouble shoot. The problems are...Speed will not increase stays at 0 mph and Odometer/Trip will not increase in mileage although it is being ridden. Everything else on the gauge cluster works fine, tach, clock, temp, fuel etc. I have unplugged and plugged the gauge cluster and speed speedometer sensor under the tank. The battery seems fine as it is on a battery tender when not ridden and starts fine every time but I have yet to replace it since I purchased the bike 3-4 months ago. Unaware of when the battery was last replaced but does not seem old? From what I've read so far is seem it may be the sensor went bad? I have on order a new speed speedometer sensor and hopefully that will fix it. Any other ideas would be appreciated...

Most likely it's your speed sensor. Had one go out on a customers bike that did the same thing.. Swapped out and worked just fine.

Thanks! Still waiting on the sensor...makes me feel better that you had that same problem and it was resolved by replacing the sensor.

Hate to hijack your thread but looks like you got a solution...since my issue is pretty similar I thought I could ask it here also instead of starting a new one... my cluster is out... I don't see anything no spped..no RPMS moving nothing..Its a 2008 with only 12,000 kms on it. So fairly new condition IMO. not sure if something got unplugged somewhere or a fuse that controls it or something.. any advice would be Great!!

Thanks

You have a short in your wires if you are blowing a fuse. Need to pull the nose and see what wires are pinched or burned together and fix it.

Yeah exactly it.. my plate lite was melted due to someone attempting to rip off my exhaust they took the bracket so it hung lowered melting the plate wire before I noticed it was gone.

OK, changed the Speed sensor. No joy! That didn't do it. Is there anything I need to do after installing the new one? Do I need to recalibrate, unplug/plug or anything? I was really hoping that was the problem. Any other suggestions?

Did you check the wiring from the speed sensor to the Cluster?

Get a multimeter, put it into continuity (buzz) mode.
Disconnect the wiring on the Cluster side and on the speed sensor side.
Find out which pins on the two connectors actually wire the speed sensor the cluster and test it.

Also examine the connectors carefully to see if there's no dirty and that you can see the pins/female sockets to ensure proper connection would be made when you plug in.

If there is no continuity then you've got a wiring issue!
I don't have the wiring diagram for the 2012 CBR600RR so hopefully someone can chime in on the exact pins. You may have to check other relevant wiring from the speed sensor to wherever else it may go (get the wiring diagram).
