Coming this way for the AMA race??

Since they took out the cavity RA isn't nearly as tall as it used to be. I can't remember the RR gearing, but if you've been to VIR go one or two teeth up from that. You'll likely end up over gearing so that you have the correct RPM for the esses anyway... really important. Oh, and stay on line through there, the bumps are murder off line thanks to the sports cars. good luck!

Hey Larry,

thanks for the info. I will be attending the WERA National finals next month, just some club racing. Soon in the AMAs though ;)

Haven't been to VIR but I'll try the 45 in the rear. Try the stock front or down 1? The esses do look critical as well as the straights into the slow corners. Just saw the AMA Road Atlanta races, I'm excited.
I ran it on a 15/45 gearing, and it needed to be higher.. the general concensus I've found for that track on our bike is to run 15/43
Thanks for the info chkaotic. I'll bring that combo out. That should be around 16/46 right? I'll check that gearing calculator, not sure if I have the 43 teeth 520 sprocket.
not 100% on the 16/46 = 15/45.. i just have a 45, 44, and 43 set that I switch between..
Thanks. I just checked the gearing calculator and the 16x46 is similar to the 15x43. This is perfect because I like the shorter wheelbase for quicker turn in. Thanks everyone. Time to practice for the Road Atlanta race. I'll let everyone know how everything goes.
If I can get off work I am definately coming to see some racing, since im too slow to race in the GNF myself and all :)..
I went with 15 front 44 rear. The rev limiter just hit 15k at the end of the back when you start to bake a the 3rd line before 10. I end up doing a 1:42. Then again im not that fast. I have yellow plates. The SS's you can get on the gas all the way down just before turn 5. Lots of grip on the SS's.
Hey Niko,

Thanks for the input. Are you hitting the rev limiter at 15k at the top of 5th gear or in 6th gear at the end of the back straight? I've never been to that track so I don't know how long it is. Thanks.
That's 6th gear. For me that was just about right. I shift gears at 14k every time too. Thats peak HP RPM. After that the power band starts to go down.
I was told to run a 15/46. But need some testing before I stick to that.
See you at GNF.
Good luck out there Ryan! Post up some pics when you get back!
