yes i did and i would not recomend it at all. it took all of a saturday to do mine and i had help. inside the stock pipe is three chambers that it flows through. if you want to go ahead and do it hears how you should do it.
first take it off your bike. then unbolt both covers on ther rear. take a cut off wheel a cut the four tach welds. then here they welded the pipe on to the muffler cut it nice and straight beside that factory weld. now that you are inside it you will see the chamber that the exhaust flows through. now get a drill and like a 1/2 drill bit drill you two holes one on each side so you can get a blade in there. same on the back side.( when you go to cut the sheet metal i used a air saw saw. it uses a blade like a jig saw but is a saw saw) on the exit side of the pipe leave like a 1/4 gap all the way around because you will have to reweld that. but the inside do what you have to do.
now that you have done that grap a pair a channel locks or vise grips and twist out the tube on the inside. then you can tear out the second one. then to get the third chamber out there our four tach welds inside that you need to break a chisle and a hammer works good. then it should all come out. the third chamber cut almost all of it cause it will go back in. now it is welding time remember that is stainless so good luck and i hope you like it.
personally it sounds a lot better than factory but not like after market does. i bought ended up buying a micron exhaust. but if you really want a gutted exhaust i will sell you mine
