Did anybody else catch this show on Travel Home and Leisure channel? Pretty sweet episode...Matt LeBlanc (Friend's) interviewed Duhamel, Hayden, and Bostrom with some cool behind the scenes stuff. They gave Honda some serious props: in a nutshell, they showed how and why Honda's Superbike team is so great (from the riders to the mechanics). They didn't cover much of Hayden's MotoGP experience so this may have been based on old material. Hayden was saying how all of his leathers are custom fit and only weigh 10 lbs!!! If only...

yeah, looked like it was filmed last year. it was kinda based towards people who have never been on bikes i think, but cool none the less.

Missed the show, hope my TiVo can catch it on replay.

FYI-
Nicky's old AMA suit weighed 10 lbs. Repsol Honda required his suit to weigh <7lbs

Joe Rocket went back and completely re-engineered their suits to meet the requirement. The cost of the R&D and the added cost of all the suits they made using the new/improved processes was massive! Cost no object is the required attitude for anyone associated with MotoGP!

(May be part of the reason for the recent split between Nicky and JoeRocket)

I work for Joe Rocket, so let me clear up any speculation as to why Nicky went to Alpinestars. At the point he is at right now, he can demand huge money from sponsors, and this year, his agent and himself were asking for $750,000us plus all his gear for the year, just from his leather supplier!!! We knew he waranted that price, but where not willing to spend that much on a guy who rides overseas, where our market isn't as strong as it is in North America(We are #1! - J.D. Powers) There was a mutually respectfull departure by Nicky, and we signed a new contract with another great american series superstar - Matt Mladin. And yeah, you guys can make up whatever spaceage materials you would like to think the new suits are made of, it makes us sound like we know what we are doing  HeHeHe!!! It's called ingenuity.

The company was started in Windsor, Ontario, and continues to operate over here, but is now owned by a company from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
