for them to fit properly to give u good base form the tiny 9mm driver, you have to push it way in, then it hurts...

I just buy mine at wallmart, because you will destroy them after a while. Earbuds work the best in a helmet if you melt off the extra hard plastic that goes down the wire for about a half an inch from the speaker cover.

i would advise against the noise calcelling headphones. First of all they cost more that typical 'high end' headphones and they do not cancel as much noise as the ones that seal out the noise. I would suggest Shure E2C's. They are pretty cheap now and work much better.

theyre more noise insulating, they blaock out quite a bit once u ge tthem in, but as i said they hurt most ears.
you dont wanan cancel too much sound whiel riding tho man.. them cagers will run you over, you wanan hear something...
try a double bubble windscreen if you havent already, deflect the wind higher, more over you.
if that doesnt work and u still wanna ride with music, try a different lid...
ive noticed the lighter the are the more noise comes in.

I've tried a few different headphones, including ipod ones. As soon as I put my helmet on, they fall out and are useless. Maybe it's just my head.. or my ears.. anybody? I was going to get a pair of headphones that fit over the ear.

Problem is headphones are like helmets, every pair is going to fit each person differently. Just got to keep testing different kinds till you find some that fit.

Some helmets have ear pockets. You might want to consider getting some of the ear phones/speakers that fit in there. I've never used them myself but I'd like to. Seems that you could install them in the helmet permanently with a female end at the bottom. Then you could just plug an extention wire into it whenever you were listening to music.

Here's a little writeup of the install of some helmet speakers.
