Two Brothers carbon fiber slip on.
RR Frame sliders

First accident...... below is the damage I have noticed so far:

- Rear brake pedal, bent 180 degrees back (funny and not funny simultanesouly)

- Front tyre is screwed; I was able to ride the bike from the accident scene back home on the punctured flat tyre as this was my only option at the time (I did have an escort in a car). I don't know if it could be repaired or not, it has partially detached from the rim.

- Even though I have original Honda frame sliders on, I busted the lower right fairing and the engine cover is visible and seriously scratched towards on side.

Right after the accident, I noticed there was something leaking from the bike somewhere behind the rear brake lever, I have no idea what it could be. The weird thing is, since I rode the bike straight after the accident, there was no leaking at all. The bike has been in the garage for more than a week now and nothing leaking at all. I did turn the bike on yesterday and revved the engine a number of times just to keep the battery active and see if there is any new damage; again nothing. There is something I noticed well before the accident, sometimes I would smell this burning smell when I am at a traffic light or when riding generally for a few seconds, then it would go away completely, sometimes I would have full rides when I would never smell it. When I did start the bike yesterday though, I did smell it.


I am thinking of bending the rear brake pedal by hand, and also taking the front wheel off today to get the tyre replaced. I have a service manual.

I would appreciate all the help I can get, It is unnerving to drop your brand new bike like that, but I want to get it back in tip top shape technically at least.

hmmmm, you didn't mention anthing about the actual crash... but your signature isn't too reassuring...

I would replace the brake pedal, who knows what kind of integrity it has left. It's not worth it to cheap out on something as important as brakes.

You can also keep the battery active by hooking up a battery tender, I wouldn't recommend turning it on and revving it continuously until you find out what the fluid was that was leaking.

If your tire popped off your rim might be bent. I would make sure your rim is straight before you try installing a new tire.

Was your bike on its side? If so, overflow would be my guess. Coolant, fuel, both have relief hoses and if you lay your bike down, you could see both pooling on the ground. Stand the bike back up it will stop.

^^. I was freaking out when I dropped mine in the garage and saw leaks. Turned out to be the fuel overflow

I actually just want to take the wheel off, take it to the dealership and they can treat whatever the problem is, albeit a bent rim or a messed up tire.

Yup, the bike was on its side, the right side. I hope it is the overflow and nothing more, I did ride it after the accident directly for 15 mins at 50 Km/h and there was no leaking at all. There wasn't a lot of fluid on the floor at the scene, but I am guessing I will have to check that all levels are adequate, right?

About the crash, it was an overzealous attempt on my part to take a corner that I have never taken before, I'll be posting a more detailed account in the Crash, Boom, Bang section.

I thought of the brake pedal snapping off if I try to bend it back; I guess I will have to replace it.
